ASTERIA // nathania x gabriel; you're not alone! a-ˈstir-ē-ə, pronounced starry one or "of the stars," meaning vii years old, age female, gender
mongrel, heritage spanish cross, resembles palomino overo, coat sweet tourmaline, eyes
description, Swathed in the richest and softest of Egyptian cotton; the fabric, so thin and vibrant, is dyed in hues mirroring Baltic Amber. The pattern is broken, and along the sides of the exuberant creature is a map of another world, painted in virgin white; from belly to inches away from her tallow-hued spine and flaxen mane and tail. Her legs too, are ivory shores, standing in solidarity with that imaginary world sketched along her sides. Her face bares a white blaze, one that just barely excludes her tourmaline eyes, but catches her lips, turning them a rosy pink. Her body mimics a leggy, warm-blooded creature. Her height creating something alike to a gazelle; she is slim. There is an obvious Spanish appeal to the mare; significantly chiseled in a way that echoes the many mustangs in her breeding. She is as she appears. The mare is mild-tempered and brewed of everything sweet and innocent of either parent. Every one of their perfections was slipped into this ethereal concoction. However, not all things can be perfect; not everything can be sound of mind, of heart and intelligence. The mare lives within her dreamland, perfectly naïve, and optimistic to a burning fault. Forever trusting, and giving; she is what one calls “too nice.” There is never a limit to her love, never a closed door to her heart. But though, she may be as sweet as candy, she too must have her pitfalls. Like a child, she is also victim to more base emotions: jealousy, envy, swift-turned hate and affections. She is a tempered thing, a hot-blooded, but beautiful mess.
background, She hails from the realm of Avalon, within the province of Cimarron, and is the descendant of many kings—her great, great, great grandfather Yarraman had been the father of the kingdom, the very one to place roots where many would call home. She is, also, the descendant of great scandal—and history aptly repeated itself. The first salacious moment in her history came when her grandfather Spirit, son of Yarraman had usurped the crown from his more morose brother, Shadow. Later then, was the birth of his firstborn son Unbreakable Stone who was not carried by Spirit’s alpha mare. Next, of course, was the arrival of her grandmother Solstice upon her grandfather Hidalgo’s doorstep. Her belly was round and heavy with child. Solstice was the mistress of the then Duke Hidalgo, and soon became the object of abhorrence amongst his rather large harem of mares. This “outlander” would be the mother of Hidalgo’s heir, his first born son: a place of respect that should have been reserved for his more dominant mare Lenore. Solstice would abandon her makeshift family out of fear and guilt, returning to Hidalgo as a ghost, to mother a second son by him: Gabriel, Asteria’s father. Cadell would become King in the wake of their father’s death, leaving Gabriel forever remembered as the unwanted and unloved son.
He’d find solace in the arms of a Gypsy Princess, having discovered the beauty on one of many nights he was left incapable of sleep. Their romance would also be scorned by disgrace. Their young love, besmirched by a jealous young charlatan, who’d quite literally lock away beautiful Nathania in an ivory tower. Tristan would woo the beautiful Gypsy Queen and give her a daughter: Estrella; then he would tell Gabriel that their beloved Nathania had perished, felled by the angry claws of a cougar. Madness would take hold of the beloved Saint, and he had fallen victim to his own repressed and carnal emotions. In angry, and madness, he would ravage three mares, believing these Palomino creatures to be ghosts of his Gypsy Queen. One was in fact, truly her, and Alcander was thus created. After being ravaged by ocean waves of emotion and turmoil, the two were finally able to find love, and from their peace and their return to happiness, came Asteria. Her lineage is touched by legends, of titans and devil kings. She is one of extraordinary heritage; and she, is the keeper of such tales. But, what would life be if she did not contribute her own stories? Just before the fall of WRV, Asteria found herself a home, a friend, and what she believed to be her fairy tale prince. Used, she believed herself discarded and with-child, Ammitt's child. In Transience, the birth of Antigone occured.
