What do YOU do for muse?

Just as the title says! We all do something different to get our muse flowing, whether it's in general, for pictures, or for our beloved characters!

This is what I do..

I get my general muse for posts from Enya, Celtic/Irish music, the Avatar soundtrack, and various other mostly instrumental music. I can't focus on what I'm writing when there are actual words being sung in the song, since I have ADHD and get sidetracked. They also tend to evoke very strong, specific emotions, which helps when your character is in such a mood, so that's why those work for me. For pictures, I basically listen to anything; I put my ipod on shuffle and get to work. (: For characters, I tend to watch movies that remind me of them/inspire me to write about them. Some of these, for me, are Gladiator, Avatar, UnderWorld, and The Lord of the Rings.

What about you guys? I've always been curious about what other people do. (:

I read books. I pre-plot in my head with my characters. Drawing them out helps to hash out my mental image and thus their representation of their character. GOOD PLOTS. Gives me a jumpstart. It helps to give me a chance to hash out problematic characters. In Tiburon's case, this is most of what I struggle with. If you guys saw my posts from say... my character Jebediah (Draft stallion; light) ya'll wouldn't think that I would be the same author. Jebediah is my equine muse. I swear... Though instrumental music and music in general gives me loads of art ideas which feeds my literary muse at the same time. ^^

LMAO, fox. I do the same thing. And I do the same at you too lifelight, I watch movies. I am going to try instrument music.

I listen to music that suits my mood. I write off of that. Though, lately, that hasn't been working for me, so I'll probably be raping some of these ideas. (;
Sometimes I'll read other peoples' posts, and if they're really really REALLY good then I get inspired from that - the catharsis. I do the same thing when I read a book, or observe a picture that has meaning to me. Things of that nature.

I also forgot to mention that I get my muse for writing my novel by role-playing. I stem a lot of my literary leaps from role-playing extensively when I was younger. I wouldn't be where I am today without you guys! *hug*
