History: At age one, Alkippe was a happy go-lucky horse who was part of a small, yet wonderful herd. The year had been off to a terrible start with a drought happening for the first time in ages. Fire and smoke were common; soon the herd was used to Mother Nature wreaking havoc in their seemingly perfect world. " Fire! Fire! Wake up! Lets go, everybody! " The sentry screamed one night. Herd members ran every which-way; not caring where they went as long as they weren't by the flaming heat. Once the field was lit with the fiery intruder, it was gone. Alkippe, scared and terrified, ran until she could no more. After she had rested for no more then five minutes by a small stream, she ran some more. Alkippe soon got lost and started looking hopelessly for her homeland and herd. Then she found Windriver.
